Hundreds of professional women will join to hear keynote speaker Eileen Frere, Orange County bureau chief for ABC7 Eyewitness News, as she discusses her journey and career, during the Women of Influence Forum on Friday, March 17, 7:30 – 11:30 a.m., at the Island Hotel, 690 Newport Center Dr., in Newport Beach.

A native of Canada, Frere held her first broadcast job working weekends at an Ottawa radio station. She then went on to report for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) for seven years, followed by four years with KOMO in Seattle, Washington. There she reported from the middle of the World Trade Organization riots in 1999 and provided non-stop coverage during the 2001 6.8 magnitude Seattle earthquake. She was on the top floor of the city's highest building when the quake hit.  She also covered the thwarted millennium terrorist attack that involved the arrest of a suspected terrorist.
Frere has received a number of awards, including one from the Columbus Film & Video Festival for her in-depth look into the use of steroids. She also received special recognition from the U.S. Border Patrol Council for her coverage of issues involving the Canada-U.S. border.

Joining Frere as speakers sharing their stories, challenges, and attaining success are Kim Sentovich, executive vice president of Stores and Logistics, Gymboree Corporation, overseeing operations of 1,300 stores; Kim Shepherd, CEO of Decision Toolbox, a talent acquisition and engagement company; Paula Steurer, founder of Sterling Public Relations, with offices in Corona Del Mar and New York City; and Monica Wise, creative director of L*SPACE Swimwear.

The event, presented by the Greater Irvine Chamber of Commerce and sponsored by Wells Fargo, will also include a marketplace of products from local vendors and forum sponsors, as well as networking opportunities for attendees.

Tickets are $80 for Greater Irvine Chamber members, and $95 for visitors. Sponsorships and tables are also available for purchase.
