California law requires employers of 5 or more employees, to provide sexual harassment prevention training to all employees!
A new law that took into effect on January 1, requires all California employers with five or more employees (including those located out of state) to provide at least two hours of classroom or other effective interactive training and education regarding sexual harassment to all supervisory employees and at least one hour of classroom or other effective interactive training and education regarding sexual harassment to all nonsupervisory employees within six months of their assumption of a position.
To comply with the January 1, 2020 deadline, all employees must be trained during the 2019 calendar year. This training must be provided once every two years.
The California Department of Fair Employment and Housing takes the position that employees, including supervisors, who were trained in 2018 or before will need to be retrained again in 2019.

Since harassment is a major source of litigation in California, CalChamber recommends that employers with fewer than five employees also train every employee.
