Event Description:

The SBA’s Santa Ana District Office and Orange County/Inland Empire SBDC present the 7th Annual Southern California 8(a) and Small Business Conference. The 2017 Conference will be held at the Hotel Irvine on April 12, 2017.   

The purpose of this Conference is to provide a forum to educate, guide, and assist small business, in working with federal, local, and state governments. This event will provide an opportunity to meet buyers and contracting officers from large companies and government agencies to discuss business opportunities in a one-on-one setting.

The SBA’s Santa Ana District Office is engaging subject matter experts to deliver informative presentations on topics of importance to government and commercial sector prime and subcontractors through numerous workshops. There will also be plenty of opportunities for networking.

Keep in mind: THIS IS A TOOL IN THE PROCUREMENT PROCESS. DO NOT EXPECT TO WIN A CONTRACT ON-SITE. Ask pertinent questions and find out what companies and agencies are looking for and what you need to do to qualify.

This will be the largest SBA Southern California 8(a) conference to date.  You can’t afford to miss this event.

County of Riverside Purchasing Department - The County of Riverside Purchasing Department is constantly looking for suppliers of the various goods and services it procures.  Riverside County Purchasing total procurement outlay is more than $800 million.  
The County of Orange is one of the largest purchasers of goods and services in the State of California.  The County currently conducts more than $3 billion in business-related actions through contracting and procurement undertakings.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) had a total procurement outlay of $4,339,203,966 in FY2016 among its five business lines of construction, services, supplies, IT, and R&D.
The Metropolitan Water District contracts for as much as $500 million annually in the following services:  professional services (i.e. engineering, architectural, legal, human resources, audit, etc.), construction, and purchasing (i.e. fleet, trucks, lifts, pipes and valves, water treatment chemicals, hardware and tools, electrical equipment, computer software, and landscaping services, etc.).
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Los Angeles District, provides civil works and military engineering support to Southern California, Nevada, Arizona, and parts of Utah. Military missions at nine installations include construction of a hospital at Fort Irwin, California, and F-35 fighter jet facilities at Luke Air Force Base, Arizona. In fiscal year 2016, there were $448 million in total contracts awarded.
The Air Force Space and Missile Systems Center is responsible for on-orbit check-out, testing, sustainment and maintenance of military satellite constellations and other Department of Defense space systems. In fiscal year 2016, there were over $5.9 billion in total contracts awarded.
The Mission and Installation Contracting Command-Fort Irwin contracting office serves as a vital member of the National Training Center Team and a key component in the successful fulfillment of the installation. MICC Irwin executed 239 contract actions valued at nearly $27 Million and exceeded each of its' five small business goals in FY2016.
